YOUR Business NEEDS Color Tab Advertising

The cost comparisons made below between direct mail and newspaper insert distribution reveals newspaper insertion to be much less expensive than direct mail.

Distribution Options

1. Direct Mailings

Mailing tab advertisements has two main cost components. The first component is the cost of postage and the second component is a charge for mail room services. An advertiser choosing direct mail distribution can prepare the pieces to be mailed themselves or choose to use a company to do the mailing for them.

A. Third class mail distribution of 100% advertising publications can delivered to rural route address and post box holders without an additional address label if the mail is delivered directly by Post office driver who does not exit the vehicle. The postage cost is about 14 cents each. Edwards offers a package of mail room services including bundling, bagging and mail reports for a per piece fee of 7.5 cents each

B. Third class mail to be delivered to any address where mail is delivered by a walking route carrier requires direct address labeling. Postage costs for this type of mailing are about 20 cents each. Edwards offers maintenance of any supplied list and labeling of of 100% advertising publications, in addition to bundling, bagging and mail reports for a per piece fee of 8.5 cents each.

2. Newspaper Insertions

Most local and every metro newspaper offers distribution of tab advertisements through insertion into locally delivered papers. Newspaper insertion costs vary from each paper in each community. The ability to target insert delivery to specific sections within a newspaper's area of coverage also varies from company to company, but most companies offer some options other that insertion into the entire delivery area for that newspaper. The cost range for insertion services is usually as low as 5 cents each to about 12 cents each depending on the company used, the size (weight) of the insert, the delivery area desired and number of pieces to be inserted. Usually newspapers require the insert piece to be delivered to the plant where it will be inserted a week to 10 days prior to insertion date. Generally any distribution fee for an occasional insert (not under a regular contract) must be paid at the time an insertion order is placed. The distribution totals and cost examples below are deemed to be accurate, but are subject to conformation from the company prior to any insertion order being placed.
